As crianças do mundo inteiro - Children around the world
(Version in English below)

The interest of my son for Africa is inexhaustible (Africa, onde cresce o Baoba). So I looked for more books in the Library. I found these three books: (1) Kinder aus aller Welt: In Zusammenarbeit mit Unicef von Anabel Kinderley and Anne Braun; (2) Die Kinder der Welt von Thomas Geduhn and (3) Aller Kinder dieses Welt von Delphine Gravier-Badreddine.
The books talk about children around the world, on customs, eating habits, kind of clothes and shoes, toys and games, dreams and beliefs, hopes and fear, and more.
The Africa is still a very special continent for my son, but after these books, other continents intrigued him !!! These books are truly spectacular, a shame that two of them is not available for purchase, are very old editions.
If you are not willing to answer a series of questions on social and economic issues that their children will inevitably after seeing the pages of these books or books with similar content, then avoid them.
My son made me very difficult questions to answer, such as: "Why skinned people" brown "(as he says innocently) are poor people?"; "Why has no food and toys for the children of Africa?"; "Why make war and destroy the houses of the children?"; why 'someone ' does not do anything to help? "
He saw that some countries in South America and Central America, Asian countries and Oceania have housing and food precariousness, coincidentally are black or brown-skinned people. Of course, I explained that the color of people's skin does not determine their economic standard and so little to nationality.
My son I proposed that we have to buy food and toys (no used toys) and enviarde ship to Africa because he believes there is no airport, and he saw in a city we visited in the middle of the Amazon rainforest.

The pages contain pictures of war-torn countries, children looking for food in trash cans, children begging for alms, were the most difficult pages to be seen, and more difficult to have answers for my son and myself.
However, the wealth of information provided in these books were extemal importance. I was 40 years old, had not yet accessed books with this content.
Here in Germany has the world immigrants, and in the streets, on the trains, my son looked at people with nationalities he knows now.
An oriental man who was in the same bus it was my son's curiosity reference. In Kindergarten my son has children from Chechnya, Pakistan, Japan, Turkia, Russia, Italy and Bolivia, besides him, Brazil.

The Tharandt forest - emotions
(The Tharandt forest - delicacy)
Was at the Museum, an exhibition of samples of roots, seeds and stems with unique settings, plus an exhibition of dendrochronology, the study of old trees. I had an emotional shock to see the viewing logs for records of growth rings of different species of trees and even radial samples of wood taken by auger Haglöf increment because all this was part of my doctoral research topic. In the photo, you can see my spell look and sadness.
Who does not carry within it the sadness of what was not realized? I do not say frustrated because frustration is "product" of unrealized expectations, and I never had expectations, but hope.
What can I learn his lesson to heart this situation that life has imposed to me? What are the reasons I did not deserve or was not able to fulfill this task? I still want an answer.
It was Sunday, we were a family, after a refreshing cup of Caffè Latte, we went into the forest.
It was time to remember a past studies and forestry work, a time I wanted to have a family. I was on the other side of the past, it was this time, next to my husband and our beloved son. The duality of emotions caused me agitation.
I collected some seeds, pine cones and branches, to try to do something like the decoration of the museum in our apartment.

The Tharandt forest - delicacy
when we arrived in Tharandt train station, so we saw the
forest almost "swallowing up" the village. On the way to the botanical garden we found the house that hosted thirty-four days (of 17de April to 21 May 178), a major German dramatist Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller, or simply Schiller. Only a few days, but the sign indicates relevant proud of such a distinguished guest, after all he is one of four brilliant writers of Classism Weimar (Schiller, Goethe, Wieland and Herder). It was a trip back in time to the history of poetry and German literature.
I just felt that that day would be unforgettable !!!
The Botanical Garden (Forstbotanischer Garten Tharandt) is a magical place, you can feel in a fairy tale. The stories of the Brother Grimm came to mind, to find a small, beautiful house, a beautiful style building in the mountains of Saxony as soon as we entered the garden. It was the small but spectacular "Forstbotanischer Museum", with a few tables at the entrance to the service of a modest Café. In the same place, also works Forstgarten-shop, full of delicacies for sale, such as with cards, candles, napkins , books and decorative items, all under the forest or botanical theme. The small museum was decorated with pine cones, hanging by nylon threads, it was all very charming.

O Natal no Amazonas - Christmas in Amazon Region

The book "Cajun night before Christmas" Howard Jacobs, illustrations by James Rice. The short story that happens in the Louisiana Bayou, narrated in Cajun dialect.
Finally I found, illustrated shape, Christmas in the Amazon, with wooden house near the river, with trees around, children sleeping on the floor (like me), and alligators as opposed to reindeer. until mouse was included in the story !!!
I was so thrilled with this book and his illustrations !!!
In my childhood, my home in the Amazon has always been ambivalent feelings.
I saw the photos, movies, cartoons and decorative items with "missing element" in the Amazon, such as snowflakes, snowman, pine, pine cones, reindeer, a man dressed in warm clothing and boots, and even a beanie . It's so hot!
All so bright and colorful. Lights, candles, red and gold tissue in none of this had inside our home, just in shops, on the streets, in churches, in homes of others. Our wooden house, with the paint of the walls disappeared, circling insects, mouse fast across the floor of the house. There was nothing red or gold inside my house, nothing was reminiscent of Christmas.
One day around Christmas, I found in the trash, a miniature colored lantern and brought home, was the only decoration of Christmas I had in my hands. I kept for years, up to 14 years, angry, disillusioned, I threw in the trash. Had ended my childhood and none of Christmas decorations.
Only 19 years old, I decorated it in our home a Christmas tree (donated) with Some ornaments and some lights. Was the happiest Christmas I can remember, because it was a childhood dream.

Africa, onde cresce o Baobá - where grows the Baoba
..." - Palavra Cantada.

My son plunged into in the African universe, and never gave up there, unlike every day seeking more information about Africa and its culture and way of life. I am not exaggerating!
My son identified in the World Map of Kindergarten some countries in Africa and Madagascar, causing admiration on teachers who have decided to put the World Map in the refectory of his group.
The German children's channel KIKA, exhibited for a few months this year, the program "Die Abenteuer von Lolulu and Malalua" which shows the daily life of two children in the Kenyan Savannah, and my son, of course, watched carefully, all the chapters .
Here in Germany has many Africans, immigrants or descendants, my son looked and smiled at them. Then he spoke or my ear that they are Africans, skin color and the braided hair.
My son, to 3 years old had already aware of the differences of skin color of the people. He started watching it at home, because I am dark, descended from Indians, and his father is white, european, green eyes. A multicultural family further stimulates curiosity.
So I went in the Library and got some children's books about countries and cultures, and of course, show a little more of Africa.
I'll tell you tomorrow ...

The interest of my son by the African continent began with the lyrics of the song "Africa", the wonderful musical group Palavra Cantada. We both used to sing this song in front of the World Map.
"Who does not know where Sudan, will know / Nigeria, Gabon, Rwanda / Who does not know where the Senegal / Tanzania and Namibia, Guinea Bissau ...?" - Palavra CantadaThen I found a video on Youtube spectacular (see here), which uses photographs of maps, many maps from different African countries, flags, people, animals, landscapes, the Baobab, so many images to give life to lyrics.

Pimpa e o Outono Claudio - Pimpa and Autumn Claudio

I've talked about the Pimpa here. I'll talk a lot more because I love watching the episodes. I bought a DVD of Pimpa, when I met her in Italy in 2012.
There is an episode for each season, and I will now speak of "Arriva l'autunno". We are in autumn, and today remembered 3 years ago when I lived in Manaus and watched this movie with my son.
In history autumn "is called Claudio" and he arrives by car with paint cans to paint sheets, is
not that amazing? Autumn Claudio likes to eat formaggio (cheese).
not that amazing? Autumn Claudio likes to eat formaggio (cheese).
The Amazon in the summer is eternal, and I watch this story to feel a little autumn in my mind, in my heart.
The videos of Pimpa always been an excellent tool for teaching, for in his stories we find metaphors sweet, playful language and many messages of friendship and love.
I live temporarily in Germany, and this year I'm enjoying the changing seasons. Now, with the autumn. Today I looked out the window and saw the carpet of leaves on the ground, I felt like "swimming" as well as Pimpa did.
